Bumtags uses Near Field Communication (NFC) technology is on all modern phones (starting with iPhone 7 and Android phones since 2012). NFC transmissions are short-range (from a touch to a few centimeters) and require the devices to be in close proximity. The Bumtag card has an encoded chip that can be read by an NFC-equipped phone.
NFC chips in Android phones are often in the middle of the phone while iPhones have NFC chip at the top (tap near the camera). The NFC is always enabled on an iPhone; no ability to turn NFC off, but for Android, you have to allow it yourself through the settings.
When you tap your Bumtag card on the phone, the phone reads the encoded chip and will retrieve your Bumtag profile from the Cloud.
As older phones do not have NFC we have included a QR code that can be scanned and will connect the phone to your Bumtag profile.
To access a vCard using NFC, you will need a device with NFC capability (such as a smartphone or tablet). Simply bring the device close to the NFC-enabled vCard (usually a business card or NFC tag) and follow the prompts on your device to save the vCard information.
To access a vCard using a QR, you will need a device with a QR code scanner (such as a smartphone or tablet). Open the scanner app on your device and hold it up to the QR code to scan it. This will bring up the vCard information, which you can then save to your device.
Our platform generates a VCF Virtual Contact File, from your profile this file can be downloaded into the user's phone adding your details to their contacts.
Your, vCard information is typically stored in the cloud, allowing it to be accessed from any device with internet access. This makes it easy to share your contact information with others, as they can simply access it from the cloud rather than having to manually input all of your information.

If you do not have an NFC-enabled smartphone or QR code scanning app, you may still be able to access the digital menu by using the restaurant's WiFi network and visiting the menu's website or web page. However, this may not be as convenient as using the NFC or QR code technology.
If that is not an options you can recommend a paper menu
The availability of multiple language options on the digital menu will depend on the restaurant's specific implementation.
